IA6Newspath Thread Starter. Mar 27, 0. With my new Pansat SD scheduled for delivery tomorrow, I wouldn't mind first upgrading its firmware to the most recent version, assuming an upgrade is available, prior to setting up and experimenting with my FTA system.

That said, does anyone know if firmware upgrades for the Pansat are available, and if so, where are they available for download? I wasn't able to locate any information about firmware upgrades on Pansat's website, however I may have just been looking in the wrong place. Nov 17, 48 Mankato, MN. I guess checking under the "Downloads" section might have been a good place to look I was looking through the instruction document for the Pansat firmware upgrade, and in addition to using a null modem cable for firmware upgrades, I'm still a little unclear as to whether an SD card can be used for a firmware upgrade as well.

There are instructions for SD card operation, however from what I gather, the "Flash Upgrade" and "Flash Backup" procedures with the SD card seem to be describing the process of uploading and downloading channel listings as opposed to firmware, but I may be mistaken. Also, in the GTRom Loader software packaged with the firmware upgrade. What is the difference between these three options, and which would be the proper choice when upgrading firmware?

May 18, 6, 29 Lizella, Georgia Republic. The SD card does work for Firmware upgrades. I've done it with mine. I located the SD memory section in the 's manual, and under SD Card to Receiver transfers, there's mention of selecting either a version code or CH data.

However, if both firmware upgrades and channel listing files have the same. There's also mention of "flash backup" functinon using an SD card, but I can't seem to figure out whether this creates a firmware backup, or rather a channel listing backup file that can be transferred to a computer for editing.

I guess I'm still a little unclear as to whether firmware and channel listings are both part of a single file, or whether they're completely separate. I'm sure they are completely separate. I've had my Pamsat for maybe a year now. When I 1st got it I used it for a Firmware upgrade, not since. I also did a channel backup, but have not used or had to use it yet. Apr 18, 1, 0.

I need to upgrade to the latest files. When you get the Pansat, I think it'll be easier to understand what's going on. TripleB Unregistered guest. I believe its the second fortec file from the top. This should get your receiver working again. Its obviously not set up to accept N2 key codes.

If not, I believe you're SOL until you learn, or get someone who knows to do it for you. Please include what model reciever you have to ensure the right fix is sent.

Go to Nagravision and press ok. Once there press right twice and you will dishnet. Go down to Key number and left top u see Nagravison 1. Press right twice and you will see Nagravision 2. Go down and input first set of codes and press OK and see Store Highlite. Go back up to Key number and press right once for key number 01 and put in second key and press ok and notice store highlite again. EXit and exit and exit. Posted on Wednesday, February 15, - GMT I have put the new key code s in in many different ways but my Pansat is not coming back on.

The key codes I've used are posted as N2 E. CA OD. CA 4D. E6 The 01 keys are the old set received in January. What is happening? Do I now need a professional to input the key codes. I do not have a laptop therefore I cannot go directly into my Pansat. I don't know how to change the bin or what a bin is.

When I try to pull up the information via zip I can't access this program. Help is needed from you. Thank you. Mike Unregistered guest. Posted on Wednesday, February 15, - GMT hey ppl i've just learned about this site from a friend and now i have one problem.

I only have Nagravision on my list to select from. Can someone help please? I guess this is a harder one to crack but most channels are still working. Only a select number are down. We just have to wait it out.

Jerry , Jun 27, Hey guys, I have owned a Pansat s since the beginning of April. Since April I have had to enter new key codes, get the bin updated and now my unit has lost channels again.

Also Since the last bin update two weeks ago my unit shuts off intermitently. Is this what I should expect from a Satelite dish? Do they really go down this frequently? Are they really this flakey? CPK , Jun 27, First off, there was a slight bug in that last bin that caused some units to cycle off by itself like yours is doing. I think a fixed bin came out to correct that. As to the constant key changes and bin updates, you came in about the time DN started playing hard ball with the encryption codes.

I have been using my about a year now. For the first 6 months I didn't have to do much of anything to it. The last few months have been change after change. I don't know if it will be a constant battle or if after a few more changes it will level off for a while.

The game goes on. We will have to wait and see. Last edited: Jun 27, Thanks for your feed back Jerry. I held off buying a dish for years for this very reason. Do you think it is worth while buying a "support" contract from my dish guys for when these problems happen or can I make these changes myself?
