That is what I did at the moment, well I have kept WSUS and adjusted group policy to point to Microsoft update, however bad that updates are now sort of uncontrolled.

I did also try to replace wundows update adml file from Windows server , but that gave me error or group policy, so I guess I will look for server adml file, maybe SBS would accept that one, or you might me helping pointing to correct admx files, that SBS server does accept without any issues?

Yes it would be great to change to , however SBS does have Exchange sever build in, yes I know is old exchange, however it does it's job This is also article that point to the same solution, I already tried, but dated March , so might be outdated info Adam AJ Tek Mace.

I am running SBS and have it active for similar reasons runs Exchange on premise, small firm, etc. When using the Windows Server Update Services snap-in, nothing is displayed in the Server Administered from this Console panel, and the Connect to server action fails with the message that the Remote Server Could not be Contacted. If I click on it, in just a few moments, voilla, there are the recent updates. Ironically it is almost better that automatic updates do not work because it forces us to manually check online.
